The dtto friends Amusement Park is a lantern festival world where wishes are seen and illuminated.
dtto friends is an original Taiwanese IP under Dcard. Built around companionship and healing resonance, it features adorable characters including Dinu the dog, Hoya the duck – whose name is a homophone of the Taiwanese phrase for “having money” – and Saugy, the garlic sausage. With their playful personalities and distinctive warmth, they accompany everyone as they step into a new year.
In collaboration with the Taoyuan Lantern Festival, dtto friends transforms lantern viewing into a journey through a story. While preserving the unique character of Taiwan’s city culture, dtto friends has specially integrated additional creative ideas for the Taoyuan Lantern Festival, planning the entire dtto friends Amusement Park Lantern Zone at Sanmin Sports Park around three major themes: “Year of the Horse Lantern Festival,” “Starlight Wishes,” and “A New Story Begins.” This immersive design allows visitors to fully engage in the experience, creating moments of “stepping into the story, making wishes, and leaving memories,” and turning the 2026 Taoyuan Lantern Festival into a beautiful city event that accompanies its people.

TaoTao Brings Good Fortune
“TaoTao Brings Good Fortune” is a large-scale inflatable installation placed atop the New Yonghe Market building. Featuring TaoTao, Taoyuan’s AI tourism assistant, as its protagonist, the work transforms the familiar New Year blessing of “bringing good news” into a visible urban language of light, seen simply by looking up. Beyond its appearance as a lovable character, it serves as a welcoming signal elevated above the city: guiding visitors from afar and, up close, adding a gentle glow of festive reassurance to the surroundings.
Constructed with inflatable membrane materials, TaoTao appears full, soft, and approachable in form – like a joyful cloud resting on the rooftop. From above, TaoTao greets the crowd, symbolizing Taoyuan’s warm and friendly welcome to visitors from all directions. Without elaborate words, the city introduces itself in a single, upward glance.
Full of Horsepower
Transforming “full power” into “full harvest,” this installation symbolizes agriculture as the foundation of abundance and highlights farming as a core source of life energy. Featuring a dreamlike winged unicorn-horse as its central figure, the work captures a powerful moment of galloping forward and taking flight – an embodiment of Taoyuan agriculture’s continuous breakthroughs and dynamic momentum, while carrying the land’s deep-rooted hope. The rustic texture of straw further conveys the spirit of land cycles and sustainable agriculture in coexistence.
Behind it, the “Peach Joy Carriage,” inspired by Taoyuan’s famous Lala Mountain peaches, is accompanied by radiant, auspicious clouds. Loaded with bamboo shoots symbolizing steady growth, persimmons representing fulfilled wishes, and a variety of Taoyuan fruits and vegetables, the scene celebrates a brilliant chapter of Taoyuan agriculture moving forward at full horsepower.
